Bachelor: Why did you chose this place? And why are you dressed up like that?
Petr: This place is memorable to me. It was after I made these ruins that I had an important insight. How to lift my Tower to the skies! And the mask... It was given to me when I was assigned to handle the cremations. I am just executing my duty!
Bachelor: You better leave this place soon. Go to Andrei.
Petr: I don't want to see anyone now. Not in this state. Too much has burned down in me. Too much has evaporated. I need to find a new flame to pour into myself.
Bachelor: And that would be all that's needed for you to calm down again?
Petr: No. You, Daniel, go in peace. Leave now or I'll take the drawings back!
Bachelor: Wait! Explain to me what these drawings really show. What is it?
Petr: Have you been inside the Tower?
Bachelor: Yes, briefly.
Petr: It is a multi-dimensional space. It has folded into itself, and does not have surfaces, borders or limits. There's no end to it.
Bachelor: That's hardly a rational explanation for it.
Petr: But you have seen it yourself! Just get the children to teach you how to find your way. It wasn't really my discovery and I have nothing to be especially proud of. I don't fully understand it myself. I have studied all of my calculations again and again. Some of the things existing in there shouldn't be real. I just know that something is not the way it should be, but what?
Bachelor: You still have to find an answer to that, Petr.
This fence is completely unclimbable from the inside, so you'll most likely run around here for a while. If you aren't abusing the quick-save as much as I am, this may in fact make you very VERY frustrated. Also dead.
The only opening in the tall fence is blocked by fire, but it looks like it has died down a bit now that Petr isn't trying to set the town ablaze anymore.
Well, here goes nothing...
Damn that hurt! I felt searing heat just as I landed, and fell hard and smacked my head on the stones. It took me a full minute until I could even stand again.
I was helped by the amazed soldiers standing around. They clearly showed that they had no intentions of imitating me and didn't seem to trust their safety suits enough to risk their lives. That should buy Petr some time.
I'm worried about Catherina. The Saburov family is very important to the safety of this town and I can't just let her succumb to the sand plague.
Bachelor: Stop yelling at me, beak-head! I need to talk to her, and I have a Panacea for her. You need to give Catherina the cure right away.
Executor: Good! There is still time to bring her back from the other world.
Bachelor: I came here looking for Simon Kain.
Catherina: Simon is alive! I feel him. There's no way I can help it, but his presence is blinding me. I woke up from my dreams but this feeling still remains with me. Here is still there! The dead Simon you think you saw was just a Chimera, a lie. Rubin must confirm my words.
Bachelor: I don't understand... Rubin? What happened to him? He turned himself over to Victor Kain for stealing the body of Simon.
Catherina: That was just a play. You can find him in his laboratory. He must tell the truth. If you ask him to swear on the honor of his teacher, then he will tell you that he did not really dissect the real body.
Bachelor: Why would anyone arrange something this complicated? What benefit would this deceit bring?
Catherina: It must be true! The Kains made the epidemic, and covered up their tracks with an invented murder. There will be proof if you look in the Horns. Aglaja won't believe me, but if it's you saying it then she will have to believe it.
Bachelor: Your words sounds more like an allegory to me. Of course Aglaja won't take it as truth.
Catherina: No! No, this is the horror of the Kains. Any idea or fantasy that by all right should only exist in human imagination they bring to flesh! With the power of their minds they can create anything they wish in our earthly reality.
Bachelor: If that was true, that would be amazing! Just think of what good they could do, if this really was true.
Catherina: Oh, yes! Look around, and behold the results of it. No, they should not even have the rights to walk this earth. I speak as the protector of the weak ones, on their behalf. Everything the Kains do is a challenge! A challenge for the strong. And how will the rest of us live? Do you have no remorse? Even Burakh, the awful slaughterer who will drown us in blood, even he feels more pity over his victims than you do.
Bachelor: What do you want from me, Catherina?
Catherina: I beg you on my knees, go to Simon, and convince yourself that he is alive. Give the Kains over to the punishment of the Inquisitor. Aglaja will be glad, because the only good thing about her is her hatred for that family. How she will award you for these news, if you would only expose the villains. Just before total destruction comes, it would be an act worthy of a real hero. Why don't you want this?
Bachelor: Okay, I will visit the Rubin and the Kains myself.
The Executor guarding the house went away after seeing the miraculous recovery of Catherina. As the minutes passed you could literally see the medicine fighting off the Sand Plague! I have precious few samples of it, but it's comforting to know that I can save the lives of a few of the Adherents if they fall seriously ill.
We now know that the Panacea completely cures any sick Adherent and makes the Executor outside go away. This mean we can visit Catherina again without giving her more medicine first.
Summary: There has been a few claims of Catherina being able to see visions, but so far we haven't taken them very seriously. After everything that has happened so far to us it's a bit harder to just dismiss it right away.
She claims that Simon Kain is alive, and the dead body we saw was some sort of clone or fantasy creature created by the same thought-magic that created the Polyhedron.
She also said that Rubin, the medic that stole and dissected Simon Kain's supposed body and created the White Vaccine from it's tissue, is back in his hideout among the warehouses. He turned himself in to the Kains several days ago but there hasn't been a word about him since then.
Next time we'll see if we can get a hold of Rubin.
