danko day 10 part 7 (11:12)

11:12 on Day 10

"Well, all my tasks are completed. It's still early in the day, so I decided to see if I could make myself useful in some way, preferably one that didn't involve so much politics."

"Talking to the soldiers in the town hall, I got the suggestion that I could help out the town guard by securing some of the locked down buildings nearby."

"My rifle is still in decent condition. It's well made and suited for conditions of war. It's time to put it to good use."

[missing image]

It's time to shoot some more burglars. You'd think a rifle would be hard to handle inside a house, but since it effectively one-shots them no matter where you hit, it turns out it's the best weapon for the job.

Just make sure you don't miss, because you'll be dead before you have time to reload.

[missing image]

"I hear someone running! I guess the burglars have a keen sense of hearing. There's not much else in here that's making any noise, though."

[missing image]

"Well, if they didn't all hear me before they'll definitely be now. Firing a rifle indoors makes a LOT of sound."

Strangely enough, these enemies will hear your footsteps very clearly, but they don't react at all to anything else that makes any sound. As long as you sneak around when you're near the stairwell you are 'safe' from ambushes from the floors above.

"There are some signs of minor destruction here and there, but for the most part the whole house looks like it was left like this just a few minutes ago. But it must have been days. How long have the burglars been trapped in here? With the whole army unit just around the corner..."

[missing images]

"Aha! A great find."

[missing image]

It's perfectly safe to eat, promise!

[missing images. mm, plague steak.]

"This whole situation is starting to feel a bit odd. Why would you leave a perfectly good steak like this? Didn't people have time to finish their dinner before they had to flee the building?

It's a bit cold but seems to still be edible. Still smells nice, too. I have to admit that even with their heavy handed methods the Olgimskiys knows how to produce some really tasty beef."

[missing image]

"Ah! I could have used something like this earlier. Back in my laboratory we used coats like this when we had to handle dead bodies. It is rather thick and can probably help me avoid small cuts and bruises from fights as well."

All in all I think I went through about 6 houses, and in total we got a lot of stuff. Some of it will be very useful during the relatively few hours we have left of this game. The rest was sold in the nearby shop.

[missing image]

"It's time to get some rest. Kapella lives just nearby, so I started heading in that direction. On the way a small child tugged on my coat and wanted to show me something."

"She had another of those small boxes with powder. It's a good thing I kept all those nuts I've been finding because she turned down all my offers of money and proper medicine."

[missing image]

Oh, no! Kapella has fallen ill too. The Executors are now guarding every door of the Olgimskiy residence. I can't just leave her to die like this, so I gave up another Panacea to the Executor at the door.

[missing images]

I'm a bit worried about the infection status because we don't have any antibiotics at the moment, but it probably won't be a big deal until about a day from now. All the other stats are just fine, and I'm glad we could get past this day without too much health loss.
[missing image]

This plague is making my head spin. I need to get hold of some more medicine. The leaves looks like flickering flames.

The Theater is still playing it's morbid Pantomime.

The gravitational law of the earth is fatally incompatible with the ability to freeze time. The illusion must be parted with in time.

There's one tricky gambit which might save the mirror tower. But, it will demand sacrifices. What do you say?

The law, all is made to remain silent, as if there's nothing else to save beside this absurd tower.

There's another tricky gambit, which might save the inhabited town. Something must also be sacrificed for that. What do you say?

Law is equal to all. You are free to decide anything.

Is there any gambit which subverts your unfair law?

We are doing our job. What are you so anxious about? There's still time. Live until then.

Summary: Nothing terribly exiting happened this time, but we made some important preparations for day 11. The Theater is strange as always, but suggested that we will have to make an important choice soon, and that no matter what we pick we'll end up losing something.
What would be most important to Daniel?
