Bachelor: Yes. Someone incited people to a riot.
Aglaja: The military killed a crowd of unarmed people. Healthy people, as you probably know. And I know who was behind all this. It was done to make me look like the guilty person. I suffered some severe consequences because of this.
Bachelor: Who do you suspect of doing this?
Aglaja: I'm certain it was the Kains. They arranged this provocation and attached all the threads to me. I must applaud them for their success, however. I don't think I could have done it better myself. Something like this could only have been done by a woman of a special sort... It takes more than just practice to get this good.
Bachelor: Maria?
Aglaja: She is a witch. They call her the dark Mistress. I take it you've heard about Nina and Victoria already? Ask the people and you will understand who Maria wants to become. She will turn into a horrible queen and bend the town to her tyranny, as Nina once did. Only this time it will be even more terrible.
Bachelor: Tell me about Nina.
Aglaja: Nina was an embodiment of absolute evil. Charming, exciting, refined... But driving men mad. Those who tried to resist her got caught in her web.
Bachelor: And you think this description will fit Maria too?
Aglaja: I have recieved word from two people I consider reliable. They found certain drawings in the dirt of the waste ground, drawn by Maria. Even the very man who was so in love with her has come out and spoken out against her, when he found out about her secret affairs.
Bachelor: Who?
Aglaja: He is the son of Olgimskiy. Despite the strife between their two families, he still had hope. But no longer. The other person is the younger brother of Maria. Little Khan knows her plans better than anyone else. It is because of the horrors he heard that he fled to the end of the world.
Bachelor: This is interesting...
Aglaja: By the way, if you can talk to Khan please give him some of this Panacea from me. I have recieved it directly from Burakh, so it is certainly reliable. The boy will understand all of this. But you need to understand too. That is why you should talk to him.
Bachelor: Well, I will do something about this.
I might as well go talk to Khan right away. I'm still a bit worried about him. If the Khan family gets into trouble he'll get dragged into it too.
It's amazing what the architect brothers managed to design... This thing must go far down into the ground...
Let me in!
Bachelor: Tell me what has happened to Maria.
Khan: You should know already. I don't want to get involved in all this.
Bachelor: Are you offended by something your Sister did?
Khan: She's the one who forced us out here.
Bachelor: Why?
Khan: You should ask her!
Bachelor: At least tell me if your sister was involved in the riot at the waste ground yesterday.
Khan: No, she had other things to ruin. She's done so many awful things lately. You won't like the things you'll hear!
Bachelor: What?
Khan: She was the one who removed Eve. She wanted to grab hold of you, desperately. But... Many bad things can be said about my sister, but it's not a good idea to wash dirty linen in public!
Bachelor: How do you know about Eve?
Khan: Ask my sister. Just getting rid of someone is within her grasp. But she'll tell the truth, if it's you that asks.
Bachelor: Hmm. So you can say for sure that the Kains weren't involved in the waste ground riot?
Khan: No one from my family did that. I would be glad if the accusations were true, though! I don't want to live under the rule of my sister.
Bachelor: How do I find out who really did it?
Khan: Why are you asking me? It's the Olgimskiys that understand what goes on with the bulls and rituals. He knows much about my sister too.
Bachelor: Okay. Take this Panacea. It's for you.
Khan: I won't take it. There are a thousand of my comrades here. Either give it to everyone or to nobody. Take it yourself. Use it as a bribe if you want to.
Bachelor: Well, I hope no one here will need a Panacea at all.
Summary: Aglaja has taken the blame for the killing of the big bull yesterday, and the riot that came from that. Khan is certain it wasn't his sister that started this particular mess. He still doesn't like her one bit. To get to the bottom of this, we'll have to head off to Young Vlad and try to wrangle some information out of him.
