danko day 8 part 6 (17:58)

17:58 on Day 8

The vote was very even, but in the end the side that wants to avoid putting Young Vlad in danger won out. Let's see if we can find some other way to deal with Mother Keeper. She's just a young child, after all.

: Are you going to help me?

Bachelor: I have to get inside the Abattoir. It is very important that I can fully investigate it.

Keeper: So will you bring the one who closed the gates?

Bachelor: No. I need to get inside, but I do not want to bring a man to his death.

Keeper: Then, maybe, you can bring me my toy?

Bachelor: A toy? I can do that. Which one?

Keeper: Not just any toy! It's my riding bull. I will show you where I think I lost it.

This is almost too easy! She pointed out a house near the middle of town for me. I think it's one of the houses that was going to be turned into a shelter quite a few days ago. But that house got infected by the plague.

Let's just hope for the best. I have plenty of immunity boosters to spare, just in case. Most of the bacteria should have died out by now, anyway.

For some reason there are a lot of drunks out today. Most of them were stocked up on healing items, so I grabbed as many as I could. I've also been looking for first aid kits in the medicine stores, but with no luck so far.

This is the house. Last time it was guarded by an Executor, but I don't see any around.

Ah, they've locked all the doors. The house looks normal from the outside, but they probably wanted to make sure no one from the neighborhood entered it. I very much doubt any of the guards have had time to clean up the place yet.

I asked the guards, but they couldn't help me. No one knew where the key could be found. It seems like they don't really want more things to deal with. I was told to talk to Saburov about it, but I really don't have time to convince him that it's vital that I find a toy...

I remembered that the kids often held on to various items and trinkets they could use in their games... I took a walk around the block and cautiously asked the first child I came across.

She actually had a lock pick with her! I traded it for some needles and nuts I had collected over the week. Surely a lock pick would be a great thing to have if you wanted to go play hide and seek in the abandoned houses, but it's still a bit scary to see one in the hands of a young girl...

Some houses are locked. Generally this only goes for normal houses that are still inhabited. This is as far as I know the only time you actually need a lock pick to proceed in the story, and I was *very* lucky to find one so close by.

For some reason, lock picks are one use only instead of using durability like all other 'weapons'.

God, this place is as foul as the last time I was here! I have to be quick about it.

I was told the toy would be in one of the bedrooms. If I remember correctly from last time, there is one on the second floor.

Got it! Now I just need to get out of this hell before I breath in more of this poison. I can still hear the wailing moans of the plague victims that were locked up in here...

That wasn't too bad, once you know what to expect from places like that. I went in with the rifle ready which turned out to be a bit silly, but the entrance hallway was relatively safe and I got more immunity pills on me than I need.

The AI started weirding out again. One of the robbers turned away from an ongoing fight to come rush me, leaving his friend to deal with several guards. I took care of him easily, and then the other guy just ignored me while I stabbed him repeatedly in the back. Those guy love stealing stuff from corpses even more than I do.

: Hah! Your nose is dirty.

Bachelor: I found this wooden bull. Is it the one you wanted?

Keeper: Yes! Thank you!

Bachelor: Now tell the butchers to let me in.

Keeper: I shall tell them. They will open the pass for you. Just wait a bit and the boulder will be rolled away.

Bachelor: Fine. By the way, Kapella has sent you some medicine. She said that you have to drink them if you ever start to feel sick.

Keeper: What kind of medicine are they? They don't look like the ones my father gave me when I got ill last time.

Bachelor: Kapella told me to bring them to you. She is very worried about you. Do you understand?

Keeper: Well, all right. Kapella is very nice. If she said it's good medicine, I trust her. I'll even swallow a bumblebee for her!

Bachelor: Smart girl.

At 23:00 the entrance to the Abattoir will finally be open. The quests for today took a long time so I didn't have to wait for very long.

(VIDEO) This is what awaited us inside the Abattoir gates.

Through the wonders of game design, you will not be able to view the theater play for this day normally if you are playing as the Bachelor. To see it, you have to intentionally or by accident not enter the Abattoir before midnight, thus failing the day quest and not being able to complete the game. Make sure you keep many saves! I apologize for the break in story coherency.

What strange scenes does the Theater have in store after day 8 has come to a close?

They know how many secrets the earth hide. The scarier the secret, the deeper into the pit. And the less wells are able to get to them.

The inside of the Abattoir were uncovered. There are animals there!

The roots and dirts are there. The door underground opens quite often, but you can only enter it in one case; When it's your grave. I hope you understand the hint.

All the same, there is nothing to lose. Tomorrow soldiers will be here. Let's take the risk!

The door is open in any direction. Right, left, up and even down a bit. Make sure for yourself. We're honest here.

What's the difference, if the results are the same?
