"It is starting to get rather late, but I am not done yet. I need to visit Griff, who is by Andrei's account what goes for a 'crime-lord' in this town. It's strange that Eve said they were never any crimes committed here... Anyway, Griff's hideout is located in a warehouse in the southern part of town. There's a complex of storage buildings near the train station."
This place is a maze! Many of the narrow paths are boarded up or filled with huge boxes that are too heavy to move. My map doesn't help me here at all.
[oh hey it's the warehouse with the fire barrel or whatever]
At last, I found the warehouse Andrei described to me. It has a fire-barrel outside, so I should be able to find it a bit easier, if I ever need to go here again later. I hope not!

VERSUS
Bachelor: No, that's not why I'm here.
Griff: Well, this is the first time we meet, doc, so I'll go easy on you. But if you return here again you'll have to do some 'shopping' for us next time.
Bachelor: I'll keep that in mind.
Griff: Expensive people have an expensive way to walk, doc.
Bachelor: I need a gun, Griff.
Griff: Everyone needs one. Gotta million? We could even get you a gun that can shoot, if we take a good look. We'll find some for sure. But everything has its price.
Bachelor: You can sell me an artillery cannon for a million.
Griff: Deary, I'd sell you a cannon for free. It won't help you defend yourself from the thieves when they catch you in some alley. But a revolver could, and that makes it even more valuable...
Bachelor: Andrei is off to the kennel, Griff.
Griff: That changes things... Take this one. It's free, but it won't shoot for too long.
Bachelor: It suits me fine.
Task Update: Let's run away from here! posted:
We are armed. This is more than enough to handle whatever problem Andrei and the rest will encounter during their escape. I need to talk to him again.
"Griff handed me a worn down Revolver and 15 bullets for it. I wonder what sort of deal Andrei has with this guy. I wouldn't put it past Andrei to get involved with gambling with this guy, but I really don't think Griff would ever let him win. No matter, I have a gun for Andrei now."
I didn't mark this on the map, since this quest requires so much running back to places you've already been. Having to run long distances is what usually increases your Exhaustion. At this point we don't really have to worry about the very slight health loss if our Exhaustion reaches full, but I really don't find enough time during each day to get a full nights sleep. This may create problems on later days, but I hope I can handle that.
"After navigating the maze of warehouses again, I soon reach the bar where Andrei hangs out. Doesn't he ever do anything else?"

VERSUS
Andrei Stamatin:
You have the gun? Since you are allowed to carry one, hold on to it for
now. Let's meet by the train station at ten o' clock. We'll be near the
tracks.Bachelor: See you at ten.
Task update: Let's run away from here! posted:
Everything is ready. We will meet up at the railway station and make our way to the parked train. Then they can escape from the doomed town. The meeting is set to ten in the evening. By that time it will already be dark.
"I think I will take a rest until it's time. I can't sleep in the bar. The house of Kapella is rather close by, and from what I know about her I can probably rest there without being questioned if I leave during the night."
[bachelor need sleep badly]
[hi kapella!]
"Kapella was exited to see me. It seems the children keep a close eye on me, and they are already telling stories about everything I've done. It was not a problem at all to borrow her bed for an hour. Afterward I left for the station."
We'll sleep for 1 hour, since it's still a bit early. It's not much, but right now I'll take whatever sleep I can get. It also makes the time pass and it's about 21:30 afterward. The game is very forgiving about you being on time, so generally being a bit later is okay. Being too early works too for some events, but generally not for dialogues.
[someone threatening looking i guess. a thug? or just sneaking.]
"I should be careful not to get in any fights. I don't want to draw any attention to myself right now, especially since Saburov said he'd put out guards."
[oh hi there train yard--]
"I can see some people over there..."
[oh dammit]
"Damn, it's not Andrei! It's one of the patrol guards. The strange person on the right must be the train driver, dressed up in those strange plague priest garbs."
Patrol guard: Bachelor Dankovskiy? I have been ordered to stop you by all means. No one is allowed to leave town. This is by the order of the emergency commandant.
"This is bad. It seems Alexander somehow found out about our plans to escape. Or maybe these guards are here because he couldn't wait untill tomorrow to show off his new powers? I hope he will not be mat at me. Maybe he's just like the politicians at the capital, and is laughing at himself for dragging me into this and then playing with me. Anyway, I have not seen anyone else around. I should go and ask Eve about what happened to her and the brothers."
Task update: Let's run away from here! posted:
We failed to flee from the town. Someone had discovered our plans already. All ways out of town are now completely blocked by patrolmen.
Sadly, there's no way to complete this quest any other way. Eve REALLY doesn't get any breaks, and now she's stuck in this town together with us.
[woohoo eve's house]
Eve Yahn: My heart is beating so heavily, it feels like it's about to jump out of my chest!
Bachelor: Why didn't you come?
Eve: I'm so sorry... I couldn't sleep last night. When Andrei's letter came, I got so worried and nervous. I wanted to take just a light rest but then I lost consciousness. Forgive me! Can we still go?
Bachelor: The town is closed, Eve. There is no way to get away from here. The station was already occupied by Saburov's patrols, to prevent anyone from leaving. There are armed guards all over the place.
Eve: Then we are all dead! When it begins, I'll have to cut my wrists. Yes, that will be better... Petr has an old bath. We could heat some water...
Bachelor: Come on, stop it! Eve!
"Eve was crying, so I did my best to comfort her and led her to her bed. She needs to rest. I hope she won't act on her words. It seems like she gets scared easily and gets herself all hysterical, so maybe she'll feel better in the morning. After that, I went up to my own room and went to sleep myself."
Summary: We have survived the second day! The escape plans failed, but we are still in one piece and there hasn't been an angry mail from Saburov (yet). Next time we'll check out the new part of the play in the Theater and see what tomorrow might bring.
